The SCSPE Educational Foundation is a bridge between the present and the future that provides a way for individuals and corporations to contribute to programs and services that continue and advance the field of engineering.

The Foundation was organized by the SC Society of Professional Engineers exclusively for education and charitable purposes as sanctioned in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which renders all contributions tax deductible. The Foundation was incorporated in the State of South Carolina on October 26, 1990.

How does the Foundation Work? The Foundation consists of a volunteer board of trustees appointed by the SCSPE Board of Directors. Each Chapter of the State Society is provided an opportunity to recommend an appointee. The Board of Trustees governs the Educational Foundation affairs from soliciting contributions to approving and dispersing funds for qualified educational and charitable purposes. All activities performed and decisions made by the Board of Trustees are within the scope of the articles of incorporation and the Foundation Bylaws.

What does the Foundation Do? The Foundation provides financial support for State MathCounts. The Board of Trustees is working to establish a new scholarship program, which will be available in 2006.

What can you do to help the Foundation in its endeavors? You can help by becoming a member or contributor of the Foundation. Please Contact SCSPE Headquarters for more information on how to contribute to the Foundation. (Links and info at bottom of page.) With adequate funding, the Foundation will have the capability to increase the number and/or amount of scholarships and to increase its support of State MathCounts. In addition, the Foundation will be able to provide additional programs and services that promote and encourage the field of engineering as a profession.

Scholarships are provided by the contributions from many supporters. Click here for a current contributors list.
